It all started around three years ago. I was casually browsing the isles of Marshalls and TJ Maxx when one of their beautiful displays caught my eye. There were layers of beautiful felt pumpkins, squirrel figurines and gorgeous fabrics with the warm colors that characterize the fall season. On that day, I brought home a couple of those charming suede pumpkins and a set of string lights with the classic colors of fall.
At the time, I was also interested in decorating for Halloween, but these days all my attention centers in decorating for fall. As a stay home wife and mom of a 20-month-old baby boy, and with a bit more free time in my hands than when I was working in an office, I am feeling pretty inspired to decorate this year.
My goal is to create a cozier and more pleasant environment for my family; and although we live in Southern California where seasons are virtually non-existent, the colors and beautiful weather, combined with the celebration of the holidays and the delightful cooking, make of the fall season one of my favorites. So, to help get me in the mood, I began searching for inspiration in one of my favorite places – the Internet- .
I wanted to add some beautiful new pieces to my growing collection while keeping it budget friendly. By incorporating a few inexpensive but stylish pieces, our home will be ready for our family to enjoy and continue to make more lovely memories together.
So I decided that my first stop would be The Dollar Tree. On my first visit, I found these beautiful silk flowers in shades of orange, purple and red.
While some prefer to decorate using the more traditional fall colors (orange, brown, yellow, green and red), and others like a more neutral palette (shades of green and beige, blues and whites), I decided that I was going to use a combination of both. So my second stop was Target Bullseye’s Playground (formerly known as Target’s Dollar Spot). I found these adorable ceramic pumpkins in shades of green and gold. I can’t believe they were only $1, and the taller one was only $3.
If you haven’t checked out the Target Dollar spot for your fall decor needs yet, then what are you waiting for?, these cute pieces go really fast, so if you see them in your store make sure to grab what you want!
I also got these other ones which are made of suede and for someone who has a toddler at home, these are perfect to place in more “easy to reach” locations of the house.
Then I also found this Thankful Banner and these green garlands made out of felt. I’m not sure yet if I’ll be using the garland for fall or if I’ll be saving it for the Winter season.
I also visited Michael’s. I purchased this “greenery” which was 50% off, so I paid a total of $3 for each cluster.
Next, I found these white pumpkins for $5 each, but right now they’re even less expensive.
My last stop was Ross, where I found this lovely “Happy Fall Y’all” Marquee Sign for around $13.
These were my finds so far. If you’d like to see how I implement all these decorations at home, make sure to subscribe to my blog so that you can get notified when I post next time. What are some of your favorite fall finds?
